“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”

Catholic Funeral and Cemetery Services of the Archdiocese of Detroit (CFCS) is once again partnering with Angela Hospice to provide support to grieving people in southeast Michigan. CFCS will host two upcoming Grief Support Workshops, presented by the caring professionals of Angela Hospice.
“CFCS Detroit wholeheartedly recommend this grief workshop as a compassionate space where families can find comfort, understanding, and hope while navigating loss together,” said Deanna Cortese, Director for Mission Advancement for CFCS. “Our teams at Angela Hospice and the Archdiocese of Detroit Cemeteries are here to share this journey with you.”
The workshops will take place at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery in Brownstown on Saturday, March 28; and Church of the Transfiguration in Southfield, on Saturday, April 18. They’ll include a presentation on the foundations of grief, as well as a facilitated grief-sharing session, providing a prayerful space to remember, reflect, and accompany one another in faith.
“Grief is not something to fix or rush. It is a sacred response to love, and as we learn how to carry our grief, we also learn how to continue carrying our love,” said Keely Rhiannon, Lead Grief Counselor for Angela Hospice. “When grief is met with compassion, presence, and faith, it can become a place of deep connection and healing.”
Community members can register for this free workshop here.
Angela Hospice is grateful for the continued partnership of CFCS, who also sponsored Angela Hospice’s 2025 Tree of Life Ceremony, an opportunity for our community to honor and remember those they hold dear during the holiday season. CFCS’s mission includes community outreach and education to help support families in times of loss. For more about CFCS, visit cfcsdetroit.org.
