Reports to: Director of Community Outreach & Philanthropy
Starting Rate: $58,000 annually

We’re looking for a Philanthropy & Communication Specialist who shares this vision.

Your Opportunities

  • Supports philanthropic and communications across Angela Hospice’s varied audiences
  • Demonstrates success in fundraising and using written and visual communications to help Angela Hospice meet its strategic goals
  • Increases organizational capacity to align our fundraising and communications work into a cohesive whole
  • Coordinates major gift cultivation
  • Maintains and tracks qualifying major gift prospects and their financial advisors
  • Assists in researching and writing grant requests to foundations, corporations, government resource individuals, and private agencies
  • Research prospective donors, identifying projects or programs that may be eligible for grant support and suggesting appropriate methods for cultivating relationships
  • Supports fundraising and signature programming opportunities by creating budgets, timelines and essential task logs for events, campaigns and functions
  • Creates effective written and visual communications for Angela Hospice’s multiple audiences across platforms, whether on social media, email newsletters, or mailed fundraising appeals
  • Supports fundraising appeals, donor campaigns, and solicitation materials
  • Supports funder communications from solicitation through recognition and impact reports
  • Plans and tracks all corporate and funder recognition throughout grant/sponsorship periods

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field
  • 3 years of related experience
  • Experience in non-profit fundraising
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent communication skills and public speaking abilities
  • Experience with social media tools
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiar and experience with Moves Movement, Donor-Centric, and Community-Centric practices
