According to the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, although African Americans make up 13% of the population, only 8% of people who receive hospice services are African American.
This means having limited access to:
- Expert pain control and symptom management
- Increased quality of life
- Emotional and spiritual support
- Holistic comfort measures
- Volunteer assistance
- Social work services
- Grief support
The African American Church Empowerment Project seeks to address this disparity. We offer free end-of-life care education for African American churches either in-person or via Zoom.
The 5–session training comes complete with a catered meal for in-person trainings. Meals for virtual trainings are available via gift cards.
