Let’s Talk: Episode 1, I Didn’t Know

According to the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, although African Americans make up 13% of the population, only 8% of people who receive hospice services are African American.

This means having limited access to:

  • Expert pain control and symptom management
  • Increased quality of life
  • Emotional and spiritual support
  • Holistic comfort measures
  • Volunteer assistance
  • Social work services
  • Grief support

The African American Church Empowerment Project seeks to address this disparity. We offer free end-of-life care education for African American churches either in-person or via Zoom.

The 5–session training comes complete with a catered meal for in-person trainings. Meals for virtual trainings are available via gift cards.

Be on the lookout for “Hook / Me / Up!” the next episode of Let’s Talk.
