Virtual Holiday Workshops

With October in full swing, the holidays will be upon us before you know it. The holiday season is one of the most stressful times of the year, even if you aren’t grieving. But for those who have experienced a loss, the holidays bring unique challenge.

“With everyone trying to experience the joy of the season, it’s tough to share grief openly. This leaves those who experienced loss fighting to balance their grief, health and wellbeing,” said Debbie Vallandingham, Bereavement Manager for Angela Hospice. “As if that wasn’t challenging enough, COVID-19 has made it more difficult to connect with friends and family.”

Angela Hospice is offering free virtual grief workshops to help those in the community who are grieving this holiday season.

“This year, more than ever, it’s important for anyone grieving to brush up their holiday plan,” Debbie explained. “The Angela Hospice Holiday Workshop is an important tool for planning to find the balance and mindfulness to carry you through the season.”

Debbie said the workshop will discuss how to use traditions to celebrate those we have lost and how to focus on our health and wellbeing. “We will talk about the importance of virtual family and friend gatherings to stay connected,” she said.

“She says, ‘Give it a whirl,’” Toby recalled. “I didn’t want to take it apart because it involved doing some things that I couldn’t reverse. I didn’t have the tools for that,” he continued.

But lo and behold, he was able to get the clock to strike again. And he’s fixed hundreds of clocks since.
