Integrative Therapies Volunteer Coordinator

We’re looking for an Integrative Therapies Volunteer Coordinator who shares this vision.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support all Care Center volunteers that provide bedside 1:1 visit; mealtime and care assistance to Care Center patients. Also coordinate and support Care Center volunteers that provide special programs and services in the Care Center (i.e., tea, special meals; hospitality cart; flowers, music programs, etc).
- Evaluate Care Center and Home Care patient needs and identify and support Integrative Therapies programming (i.e., relaxation therapies; music; art; pet therapy, etc.) to provide additional end of life support for hospice patients and families.
- Identify and coordinate agency and outside volunteer resources needed to implement and support new programs.
- Recruit, train, and coordinate Integrative Therapy volunteers, including development and facilitation of additional staff/volunteer training for new program areas.
- Conduct community education and outreach programs promoting the benefits of integrative therapies at end-of-life.
- Create and support life enriching program tools such as reminiscence, art, hobbies, etc. for Care Center and Home Care facility staff and develop programs to assist volunteers to engage patients with cognitive loss at end-of-life.
- Train volunteers in utilization of life enriching programming (with emphasis on engaging a patient with cognitive loss at end of life).
- Maintain Care Center and Integrative Therapies volunteer personnel files including training records, TB test, mandatory education, and in-servicing.
- Assists Director of Integrative Therapies and Volunteer Services in preparation and facilitation of volunteer training classes – may involve weekend and evening sessions.
- Maintains and tracks documentation of volunteer hours in accordance with Medicare regulations.
- Maintains computer documents to support the scheduling needs of the Care Center volunteers.
- Attends and assists with special events as needed.
- Able to assist with the duties of the Director of Integrative Therapies and Volunteer Services as needed.
- Assists in preparation and facilitation periodic volunteer meetings for the purpose of ongoing education and support.
- Maintains statistical records.
- Performs related duties as required.
- Attends general and mandatory staff meetings and in-services.
- Follows all Angela Hospice policies and procedures.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Certification in Volunteer Administration a plus
- Experience in healthcare – hospice care, senior services and/or dementia care
- Background/interest in music, visual arts, or relaxations therapies a plus
- Able to actively advocate within the Patient/Resident first philosophy
- At least one year management experience
- Proficient computer knowledge and skill: Microsoft Word and Excel required, Microsoft Access, a plus
- Excellent skills: organizational, communication, both verbal and written, problem solving, a selfstarter, and possess an ability to work independently as well as part of a team
