When a death occurs, family members and friends often struggle to understand their loss and the overwhelming emotions that accompany it. It is the goal of the Angela Hospice bereavement team to help relieve a family’s emotional pain and to assist them as they begin to look toward the future.
While hospices are required by Medicare to include bereavement care as part of the holistic approach, Angela Hospice goes well beyond the minimum requirements set forth, even holding monthly memorial services at the Angela Hospice Care Center, a special time for caregivers, families, and friends to remember their loved ones. These touching ceremonies are just one of the caring ways Angela Hospice reaches out to the bereaved.
Our medical social workers and specially trained volunteers offer a number of grief support groups, as well as workshops, and individual and family counseling, all of which is free-of-charge and available to anyone in the community.
Bereavement services are not specifically reimbursed by insurance, but Angela Hospice had made this component of our program a priority, and these extensive services can only be provided through the support of our community friends. You can make a donation today to support these worthwhile programs that serve children and adults throughout our community.Make a Donation Online
